*Europe is known for its edgy sense of fashion, artistic expression, and interesting adverts, to say the least.

A recent British ad was quickly pulled by the country’s Advertising Standards Authority after a commercial depicted two priests getting ready to kiss passionately before sharing a tub of ice cream.

The ad was for Italian company Antonio Federici ice cream and it ran in Look magazine. It showed two chiseled men in black cassocks and clerical collars embrace “in a seductive pose as if they were about to kiss passionately,” the ASA said.

The text in the ad reads, “We Believe in Salivation.”

“We considered the portrayal of the two priests in a sexualized manner was likely to be interpreted as mocking the beliefs of Roman Catholics and was therefore likely to cause serious offense to some readers,” the ASA said

The company was ordered not to run the ad again because it would cause a massive disturbance, especially among Roman Catholics. The ASA had already received six complaints.
