Did You See That Flash in the Sky? It Wasn’t a Dream – Here’s What Happened!
If you were suddenly jolted awake by a loud boom or caught a wild flash of light lighting up the sky early Tuesday morning, you weren’t the only one. Central Indiana people are wondering what went down.
Was it an explosion? A freak thunderstorm? Nah, it was something way cooler, a meteor from the Geminid meteor shower.
Around 4 a.m. on December 10th, the region lit up with reports and videos that were hard to believe. But don’t worry, it’s not the end of the world—just a glimpse of something out of this world.
That flash? A bright meteor shooting through the atmosphere during one of the biggest meteor showers of the year.

The Geminid meteor shower is known for its insane brightness, and it’s set to peak this Friday.
If the weather’s right, you could catch up to 120 meteors streaking across the sky every hour. That’s like one meteor every minute, talk about a show!
