When you take a trip to Louisville to visit the Muhammad Ali Museum, there’s now an historical marker standing at a site that was once a training ground for ‘The Greatest’. The marker outside the Presbyterian Community Center in Louisville’s Smoketown neighborhood was unveiled on Saturday. The center was formerly known as Grace Hope Presbyterian Church. Ali trained there under Fred Stoner, Sr., who was the first African American to be named to the Kentucky Boxing Commission.
