Stress Impairs Memory and Brain Size, Scientists Say

Stress might limit memory and reduce brain size in middle-age adults. A UTSA study finds that people in their 40s and 50s with higher cortisol levels have worse memory and lower brain volumes. Cortisol is a hormone that is often linked to stress. the researchers say their study adds more evidence to the need to reduce stress. Age, gender and other factors can also account for imapairment and stress levels.
