Over the weekend, Mother and Daughter graduate with college degrees. Karen Hunter, 30 years ago dropped out of college in her senior year to take care of daughter and she only needed 13 credited hours to graduate. Karen Hunter was encouraged to go back and finish by her 22 yr. old daughter Latrice. So now they are graduating from Universities in the state of Virigina.  Karen Hunter got her degree in sociology from Norfolk State University.  Latrice Hunter will graduate from the College of William and Mary on a full basketball scholarship with a degree in kinesiology on May 13th.

It also would’ve meant a lot to Karen Hunter’s mother, Harriet Godfrey, who wasn’t able to get an education growing up. In fact, the Danville, Virginia, grandmother cannot read or write.
