So the next wave of ‘Attack Kaepernick’ is underway.
Now the San Francisco 49ers superstar quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, is defending himself and his message again so it doesn’t get swept up and lost in the chatter. Kaepernick says he is not a Muslim and is attributing the rumor to American Islamaphobia. Kaepernick debunked the rumor that his Muslim girlfriend converted him to Islam Wednesday. He said he believes the story comes from people’s fear of his recent protest. The rumor started online late-August following his refusal to stand during the national anthem in an effort to protest police brutality. It picked up steam when it was later mentioned on Fox News.
Kaepernick added he needed to get the truth out because he didn’t want the message in his protest to get lost. The quarterback plans to continue protesting during the team’s season opener against the Rams Monday.
Kaepernick’s protest continues to inspire. Click HERE to read the story of the West Virginia Tech volleyball players who are following Kaepernick’s lead.
