This sounds crazy but…

Is Pokémon Go racist?  The Urban Institute think tank has conducted research that shows there are typically more PokeStops and gyms in predominately white neighborhoods than black neighborhoods.  This means that those in predominately black neighborhoods have a tougher time obtaining the items needed to play the game than white people.  A spokesperson for the company that designed the game says the issue will be looked at once Pokemon Go has been launched globally.
