Lisa Bonet does not seem to age. It’s only her days on The Cosby Show or A Different World that reveal she is 48. She spoke of her beauty routine with the New York Times and revealed practices we can only hope result in the same fountain of youth-esque results.

An early adopter of coconut oil…

“I was using coconut oil before the current craze. It’s simple and pure. Why put a lotion on your body that has 10 ingredients when you can put on one that is from nature and smells divine and does the job?”

Lisa reveals she uses coconut oil and rosemary oil on her dreadlocks after she washes her hair. By keeping her hair oiled and clean, it prevents her locks from getting brittle. What a great, oil mixing tip!

African dance keeps her body right and tight…

“My favorite form of fitness is dance. I take an African dance class that I live for.”

One day she decided to check out the class and she’s now been taking it for the past seven years. We see you, dance machine! We suggest taking a dance class with the Alvin Ailey Extension!

Don’t over-tweeze those eyebrows!

“My brows are natural. I guess I got lucky. If you over-tweeze they might not grow back. I’ve always kept them quite full.”

Your eyebrows have the power to completely change your face. If you do happen to over-tweeze or suffer from brows that won’t flourish, invest in a great brow filler! I like Benefit Cosmetics Brow Zings Shaping Kit.

Skin care…

“I’m not one of those people who can go to sleep with their makeup on and wake up and be fine.”

Lisa’s skin is without a doubt enviable. Instead of utilizing one product, she alternates depending on what her skin needs that day. This is important ladies; knowing and listening to your skin.

She praised Dayle Breault products heavily, saying she utilizes their serums and scrubs. “I owe a lot to Dayle for my sustained youthfulness,” she said. However, she’s always taken her skin care seriously, and while she may be using more expensive products now, she did praise Saint Ives Apricot Scrub.

Shout out to Lisa for sharing her anti-aging, youth-saving remedies and rituals!
