It’s no secret that a curvy figure is now “in” (thanks in part to Drake shouting out BBWs). But singers Jazmine Sullivan and Chrisette Michelle, along with beauty blogger Gabi Fresh and OITNB star Danielle Brooks started flaunting theirs long before it became a trend. And now they have graced the cover of Ebony magazine dishing on how they got to the point where they can embrace their curves.
The ladies unveiled the cover and a behind-the-scenes clip via Instagram.
Tomika Anderson sat down with the ladies and revealed what we can expect from the article called “The Curvy Confessionals.”
She wrote:
We are all Black women who have had varying struggles with weight, food and body acceptance. Unlike me, my dining mates lead public lives. In this exclusive conversation, you will be privy to their raw emotional honesty and sound intellect, and whether you are someone who could have joined us for the meal or someone who has never engaged in the body image battle, you will learn how critical, complicated, contradictory and sometimes completely satisfying the relationship between big Black women and their bodies is.
