172686275It’s chilly here in Indy on this ‘Throwback Thursday’ and cooler to the north in Central Indiana on this Thursday morning. The cooler temps to the north set just the right environment for the snowfall on Wednesday and today to accumulate–up to seven inches in some areas like Monticello in White County and five inches in the Lafayette area in Tippecanoe. The snow and ice is causing some area school officials to provide extra time for buses and parents to deliver students to school safely with several delays and some closures in the outlying areas. There are only a few delays here in the city, most notably, Scecina Memorial High School opening 2 hours late and Shepherd Community Center opening 2 hours late with no pre-school for today.

Thursday’s weather:  Gusty winds. Snow showers developing this afternoon. Temps nearly steady around 32 degrees. The National Weather Service has a Winter Weather Advisory in effect. It began on Wednesday and will remain in effect until this afternoon at 1 p.m.
