For the first time ever, a sitting U.S. president is not among the top two in Forbes‘ “World’s Most Powerful People” list. President Obama dropped to third place this year behind Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel . It’s the third straight year Putin has topped the list. Among the newcomers on the list are presidential candidates Hillary Clinton at number-58 and Donald Trump at number-72. The list includes 73 people and ranks them on factors like the amount of money they control and how many people they impact.
