Turns out, drinking both coffee and alcohol might be linked to a better stride in older adults.  New research from south Holland found that the pattern of how a person walks is an important indicator of health, influenced by many organ systems.  The study found that consuming one to three drinks per day was associated with better strides, speed and rhythm specially in older adults.  On the other hand, drinking more than three cups of coffee per day was associated with a better walk and speed.  As far as smokers, they had worse walking strides than non-smokers.  The study was published in the “European Journal of Clinical Nutrition.”
