Janelle Monae was cut off during her performance Friday during the Today Show as she was speaking on the #BlackLivesMatter movement. Towards the end of her performance of “Hell You Talmbou” she expressed, “God bless all the lives lost to police brutality. We want white America to know that we stand tall today. We want black America to know we stand tall today. We will not be silenced…” Then the camera panned away from Monae and on to the anchor to an immediate commercial break. It is unknow if The Today show panned away due to her comments or if they ran out of time.
