Sam Smith is opening up about his recent vocal cord surgery. The singer appeared on BBC Radio One on Tuesday, following three weeks out of the spotlight to repair a vocal hemorrage. He told host Nick Grimshaw that the experience was “horrendous.” The 23-year-old confirms that he’ll resume his regular touring schedule starting with some U.K. shows in early July. He adds that the unexpected break caused by the surgery turned out to be “a blessing in disguise,” and that he’s still “just trying to take it slow” as transitions back to life on the road.
