For now it seems that B.B. King’s longtime manager Laverne Toney will remain in control of the musician’s affairs. One of King’s daughters, Karen Williams, has lost her legal battle to regain power of attorney. TMZ says a judge ruled in the manager’s favor in court on Thursday, despite Williams’ claims of elder abuse against Toney. The site says Toney came to court prepared with letters from doctors vouching for the musician’s medical care. King’s other daughter Patty has struck up her own legal battle against Toney, adding to the abuse claims by accusing him of barring the family from visiting and stealing millions from his bank account.
