On the heels of an update from Indiana State Health Department officials that the HIV Outbreak in southern Indiana is growing with now 135 confirmed positives, actor, choreographer, and health advocate Darrin Henson is making an appearance here in Indy TODAY (April 23) talking to the community about “It’s Your Turn to Prevent HIV/AIDS.” Henson, famous for his roles in the film Stomp the Yard and TV’s Soul Food is speaking at the 11th Annual HIV Awareness Program. You can catch him for free at Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet High School at 11th Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Streets. The program is presented by the Indiana Division of Mental Health Addiction, Indiana State Department of Health Division of HIV/STD/Viral Hepatitis and the Indiana Minority Health Coalition. The program, including Henson’s highly anticipated talk, starts at 10 a.m. and runs until Noon.
