Don’t look for Blue Bell ice cream on your local store shelves. It won’t be there because it’s been recalled. The Texas-based ice cream company announced Monday it was voluntarily recalling all of its products due to concerns about Listeria contamination. Blue Bell’s CEO says this is the right thing to do and the only way they can make sure their products are safe. There have been several positive tests for Listeria in different plants which caused the company to pull various flavors in the past couple of weeks, however this “all call recall” is the first recall in the company’s 100 years of existence. Blue Bell hopes to start putting products back out on a limited basis soon.

Another company is making some changes too. But, this time to their famous mac ‘n cheese recipe.

Kraft is dialing down the brightness on the artificial color of their Macaroni and Cheese. It may not be as bright yellow next year as it is now. Kraft says the boxed macaroni dish will be sold without artificial preservatives or colors next January. Instead, it’ll get its coloring from natural sources. Kraft promises the meal will still look and taste the same. Maybe your kids won’t notice.
