Sam Smith is opening up about his struggle with weight. In an interview with Australia’s “60 Minutes,” the singer said that he is emotionally affected when people call him “fat” — even more affected than when people use homophobic slurs towards him. He says comments about his weight hurt him more because “that’s something he [can] change.” The Grammy winner adds that food “controlled” him long before his career took off.
