Sam Smith is opening up about his struggle with weight.  In an interview with Australia’s “60 Minutes,” the singer said that he is emotionally affected when people call him “fat” — even more affected than when people use homophobic slurs towards him.  He says comments about his weight hurt him more because “that’s something he [can] change.”  The Grammy winner adds that food “controlled” him long before his career took off.  He says eating would “make [him] feel better” during hard times in his past, when he was in school and “music wasn’t going very well” for him.  The 22-year-old singer recently got attention after appearing slimmed down a red carpet event.  He revealed on Twitter that he’s dropped more than 14 pounds using the techniques in the book from nutritionalist Amelia Freer called “Eat. Nourish. Glow.
