The songwriter behind Rihanna’s new single “Better Have My Money” is speaking out against accusations of plagiarism. In an interview with “Vibe,” Bibi Bourelly addresses the comparisons being drawn between her dance track for the pop star and a similarly titled song recorded by a lesser known Houston rapper Just Brittany. Bourelly insists her song is an original, says she wants to be able to celebrate her success without “[bashing] anybody” or being “bitter or mean.” The songwriter adds that she’s disappointed to have to face backlash after “dedicating [her] entire life” to the craft. “Better Have My Money” will be featured on Rihanna’s upcoming eighth studio album.
