Christmas may be coming early for fans of Mariah Carey. Deadline.com reports that the diva has signed on to star in an upcoming holiday-themed musical film. The site says it was Mariah who brought the idea to her friend and longtime music video director Brett Ratner, who enlisted a team and sold a pitch to New Line Cinema. Mariah and Ratner have been photographed together several times in recent weeks, fueling dating rumors. The details of the plot are under wraps, but the still-untitled movie is expected to feature Christmas songs from different artists as well as new music from Mariah herself.
Let’s hope it doesn’t turn into a holiday version of ”Glitter.”
