President Obama Meets Nat'l Security And Public Health Officals On Response To Ebola

President Obama recently expressed his discontent with remarks made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and is now reevaluating our country’s relations with Israel. President Obama reportedly called Prime Minister Netanyahu to congratulate him on his win, but also to warn him about refusing to create a Palestinian state; a plan the U.S. believes would be beneficial. “The President told the Prime Minister that we will need to re-assess our options following the Prime Minister’s new positions and comments regarding the two state solution,” said a White House Official. Rapper Common: African-Americans Should “Forget About the Past”

Chicago-bred rapper Common came under fire after making controversial remarks about race relations in our country. During a sit down on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, he discussed whether or not we live in a post-racial society and said that African-Americans should “forget about the past” and show love to white people. “If we’ve been bullied, we’ve been beat down and we don’t want it anymore. We are not extending a fist and we are not saying, ‘You did us wrong.’ It’s more like, ‘Hey, I’m extending my hand in love,’” he said. “Let’s forget about the past as much as we can and let’s move from where we are now.” Read more.


T.J. Maxx Removes Noose T-Shirt From Their Racks

T.J. Maxx has removed a controversial t-shirt from their racks after the imagery featured on the garment sparked controversy. An image of the shirt that featured the words “Hang Loose” with a graphic of a noose was recently circulated around the web and had many people up in arms. The shirt was created by the beachwear company Tavik. Following the backlash, a T.J. Maxx spokesperson released a statement: “At T.J. Maxx, we take product matters very seriously and appreciate that this T-shirt was brought to our attention. We would like to apologize to our customers for any offense this may have caused.” Read more.
