Rihanna is opening up about the new approach she’s taking to her much-anticipated eighth studio album. In a new interview with “MTV News,” the star says her goal is to create music that feels “real,” “soulful” and that can last “forever.” The singer admits that these days, she “doesn’t want to perform a lot of [her] songs” because they don’t “feel like [her]” anymore. Rihanna says to avoid that feeling of singing “burnt out” material in the future, she’s looking to write an album that is “timeless” and that she will still be able to connect with “in 15 years.” Rihanna has yet to announce a release date for her upcoming album, which will be her first since 2012’s “Unapologetic.”

It was also announced on Monday that Rihanna will be headlining this year’s NCAA March Madness Music Festival in Indianapolis in April.
