Music producer, Dr. Dre has been named 2014′s highest-paid musician in a new poll after banking an impressive $620 million in the past year.

The hip-hop mogul’s multiple business ventures have skyrocketed him to the top of the 2014 Forbes magazine list with a figure nearly six times higher than second placed Beyonce, making it the widest-gap in the countdown’s history.

According to the editors’ calculations, Dr. Dre’s massive earnings came from his music and electronics company, Beats, which he co-founded in 2008 and sold to Apple in May for $3 billion.

Beyonce’s 2014 earnings totalled $115 million , thanks to her hit surprise December album, her solo tour and a joint trek with husband Jay Z, and various endorsement deals.

Rounding out the new top five are rockers The Eagles and Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen, who made over $80 million each, largely from touring revenue.
