3. Pain during intercourse– Often very low on the discussion list, but is a very important part of a woman’s life.  Causes can be due to endometriosis, pelvic masses, depression, or sexual dysfunction disorders.  It can be managed with pelvic physical therapy, medications, creams or surgery.

4. Recurrent yeast infections– Can be increased by diabetes or use of steroids. May require prolonged courses of medications, changes in diet and controlling blood sugars.

5. Hot flashes– After menopause, there is a decrease in estrogen which causes vaginal dryness, irritability and hot flashes. Discussion with your gynecologist can help determine which treatment is best for you including supplements, medications and changes in diet.
