Oakland Ministry Provides Thanksgiving Meal For Needy And Homeless

It’s Holiday party season! But that doesn’t mean the holidays have to add to your waistline. Below are some tips that will help you get through the rest of the holiday season without adding on a few pounds.

1. EAT MORE. Do not try to save room all day for that Christmas dinner. That is a huge no-no. Make sure to continue getting all of your meals throughout the day to avoid over eating at night.

2. Eat Whole. Whole foods are known as “real food” to our bodies and it just consist of food that does not consist of chemicals. It is good to eat more whole foods during the holidays because it’s not only better for your body but also helps you stay full longer.

3. Don’t avoid (Healthy) Fat. Healthy fats contained in ingredients like avocado, olive oil, coconut oil, almond butter, coconut butter, grass-fed butter, salmon, sardines, and nuts and seeds are great for satiety.

4. Get EXTRA Fiber. Fill your plate full of  high-Fiber foods to help you feel full as well as help your digestion.

5.Eat Bitter Foods. By eating bitter foods you can trick your taste buds into not having a craving for sweets.

6.Hydrate! It is quite often people confuse being thirty as hunger. Continue to drink lots of water because that will take away the temptations to grab more food.
