2014 Festival International de Jazz de Montreal - Day 10

Legendary blues guitarist B.B. King has cancelled the remainder of his tour after falling ill during a concert on Friday.

The Blues legend was performing at the House of Blues in Chicago, Illinois when he became unwell, with reports suggesting he suffered a fall onstage.

The 89 year old axed the remaining eight tour dates, including two shows at his own venue the B.B. King Blues Club in New York City, so he can recover.

A statement posted on his website reads,

“Mr. King fell ill last night, Oct 3, 2014, during his performance at the House of Blues in Chicago. He was immediately evaluated by a doctor and diagnosed with dehydration and suffering from exhaustion whereby causing the eight remaining shows of his current tour to be cancelled.”
