In remembering renowned author, legendary poet and beloved college professor Maya Angelou Wednesday, President Obama called Angelou one of the “brightest lights of our time.”  He said he and First Lady Michelle Obama were mourning the passing of a “brilliant writer, a fierce friend and a truly phenomenal woman.”  Angelou died Wednesday at her home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina at age 86.
