*TV critics just got a first look at CBS’ upcoming Halle Berry’s series “Extant.”
The sci-fi drama is from Steven Spielberg and stars the Oscar winner as astronaut Molly Watts, who returns from a year-long space mission with something extra – a secret pregnancy.
She and her inventor husband already have an “android’ son named Ethan, who was “created” using science. Apparently, this new fetus poses some sort of threat to Ethan — and a larger threat to mankind.
“What does this baby mean for humanity? Do they fear it’s the first step in a larger invasion?” the creative team teases in the promo shown at the TCA Press Tour.

“Extant” begins production in February and will premiere on Wednesday, July 2 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
