So R. Kelly’s 13th solo album “Black Panties” is in stores and online today and a number of my friends have been hitting me up asking what I thought. After over 15 years of writing about music I’m used to these inquiries, but I don’t really write album reviews as much as I used to and am not really an authority on R. Kelly.

However, seeing that word-of-mouth matters in the music choices of many folks I decided to post my first impressions of “Black Panties” on Facebook, free of the 140 character limitations of Twitter. Now, I had to keep my observations relatively clean because my mother and father are friends with me on Facebook, along with a number of relatives.

So here are my first impressions of  R.Kelly’s “Black Panties” that I shared with my friends and fam.
