The slate of movies dominated by Black actors continues this holiday weekend with openings for Black Nativity starring Jennifer Hudson, Angela Bassett and Forest Whitaker, and Long Walk to Freedom with Idris Elba and Noemie Harris as Nelson and Winnie Mandela. Heartthrob Elba is already hearing Oscar buzz around his commanding performance. BET and Centric air the Soul Train Music Awards this Sunday at 8 p.m, Faith Evans, Tamar Braxton, Eric Benet and Chaka Khan are among the performers. Concerts abound this weekend as well with Sevyn Streeter and singer/reality star K.Michelle criss-crossing the country on the BET Music Matters tour.
