Scammers are using Officer Rod Bradway’s name to deceive people. Police in Logansport say someone from a 727 area code is claiming to be from the Police Protection Fund. Investigators say that group does not exist and donations should be made directly to the “Officer Bradway Family Fund” at the Professional Police Officers Credit Union.
Lawrence Police are investigating two armed robberies that happened back-to-back overnight. The first incident was reported about 1 a.m. at the Pizza Hut near 46th Street and Shadeland Avenue. Police said two armed men held employees at gunpoint and demanded money before running away. About an hour later, another armed robbery was reported at the Village Pantry in the 5100 block of North Franklin Road. Detectives said they have no leads on any suspects and don’t believe the two robberies are connected.
