WayneTownship, Speedway & Providence Cristo Rey High School have all canceled school because of Thursday’s 11a.m. funeral for fallen IMPD Officer Rod Bradway. The funeral procession—which is expected to severly increase traffic and cause major delays in the city—affects a major portion of the Westside area in addition to downtown. The YMCA of Greater Indiana is offering free all-day child care to help affected families.

While IMPD is laying to rest one of their own, Officer Rod Bradway who was killed in the line of duty last Friday, they are also mourning another from their ranks–26-year veteran officer, Timothy Day. Day was a highly respected officer who suffered a heart attack Wednesday night at a local church and later died. IMPD is also confirming this morning that Officer Greg Stevens who was shot in the leg while answering a disturbance call this week will attend Bradway’s services at 11am this morning at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Leave early and be patient.  This is your advice today as more than a thousand police cars will lead the funeral procession carrying officer Bradway to his final resting place at CrownHillCemetery.  The procession will block intersections and cause major delays as it winds west out of downtown to the Wayne Township Fire Department Number 81 and pass Northwest District headquarters.
