Rapper Da Brat will join the long list of celebrities to come out with their own reality TV show and hers could look a lot like TV One’s hit series “R&B Divas”
Brat told CNN she does not plan to have the same ratchetness and shenanigans on her show as we’ve seen on many others which is why she is having a hard time finding a network to pick up the show.
“I’m working on getting one now. The sad thing about it is most of these networks want the fighting, they want the drunkenness, they want the confrontational and that’s not me anymore,” she said. ” I’ve outgrown that and I don’t want that to be the main focus. Been there, done that and been through hell because of that.”
Instead, Da Brat would rather have cameras focus on the more positive aspects of her life. “I want to show people who I am, introduce them to my family, where I’ve come from, how I’m helping people with my charity work,” she explained. “I know it sounds boring, but that comes with a lot… of bumps in the road. So I’m currently shopping for a deal right now.”
Phil Thornton, best known from producing TV One’s hit show “R&B Divas,” will be attached to Da Brat’s project which should help in her quest to find home for the show.
Da Brat’s show is just one of several other projects on Phil’s slate, though. “I am developing a show with Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child, also I am developing a family docu-series with Tamala Mann and her family,” he revealed.
Michelle’s show, “My Sister’s Keeper,” will follow Michelle as she records her upcoming album. Fans will also get a peek into her home life as she interacts with her two sisters, and Phil predicts more than a few chuckles.
“[Michelle] is really a sweetheart, she is hilarious. If you get her and Lil Moin a room you will be in stitches, in tears,” he said. “They are two of the funniest people, I know. I just want to show that side of Michelle because I feel people don’t get to know that.”
