Consider how many of his friends you have met. If you have been introduced to most or all of his close friends, there is a good chance that he wants to keep you around.
Consider how many of his family members you have met. Again, if you have met all of his close relatives, he wants you to feel like a part of his family.
Consider how long you have been dating. It takes most people months, even years, to become completely comfortable around another person.
Consider whether he constantly criticizes your flaws. A man who wants to marry you will appreciate you regardless of your imperfections. If he is constantly trying to change you into someone else and is not succeeding, he is probably keeping his option open in case he finds a “perfect” someone else.
Ask him about his plans for the future and evaluate his answer. If he talks about a future with you in it, he is probably going to pop the question. However, if he wants to be the eternal bachelor and keeps mentioning his lack of interest in settling down, he will not be proposing anytime soon, if ever.
Share all of these details with your friend. Ask for his or her honest opinion on this issue of marriage, not just what you want to hear.
