Pedestrian Stuck at 38th and Post Rd.
A pedestrian was struck and killed near 38th and Post Road last night, when a man was trying to cross the street.
Police said the driver stayed on the scene and was cooperating with investigators. He told police he didn’t see the man in the road.
Alcohol nor speed are believed to be a factors in the crash.
Police did not immediately release any information about the identities of the victim or the driver.
Indiana Man Accused of Killing Puppy and Beating Child
A Greencastle man accused of beating a puppy to death is back behind bars facing unrelated charges for battery of a child.
24-year-old Kenneth Collins, is accused of repeatedly spanking the 4-year-old son of an acquaintance, leaving marks on the boy’s bottom.
According to a police report, Collins spanked the boy after the child refused to pick up his toys.
In a separate case, Collins is accused of beating his girlfriend’s puppy to death because it was chewing on his shoes.
Indy Police Vs Semi-Truck on I-70 Chase
The driver of a tractor-trailer led police on a chase yesterday evening.
State Police tried to pull the truck over on I-70 because it was driving erratically, but police said the driver kept going.
Police chased the truck toward downtown until stops sticks were used at the south split.
Police said the driver will face a number of charges, and they believe alcohol was a factor.
Pet Shop’s License Revoked
A judge has revoked license for the Fish Bowl Pet Shop after Animal Care and Control Officers confiscated 400 animals following an inspection that revealed dead fish and lizards, dirty cages and tanks.
Houston is also facing $1.4 million in fines.
The Fish Bowl has been a fixture on the east side for more than 40 years.
Woman Falls out of Truck, Dies.
An Southern Indiana woman was killed after she fell out of a Fed-Ex truck yesterday afternoon. 54-year-old Debra Harris, was riding in the right front area of the truck and fell out when the truck rounded a curve.
She was taken to the Evansville hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver was not injured.
Girlfriend’s 911 Prank Goes Wrong
A 19-year-old girl is facing charges for a prank gone wrong. Police say she sent a text to her boyfriend on Friday that said the State Farm Insurance branch she worked at was being robbed.
Officers showed up with their weapons drawn, but found the girl inside on the phone and not in danger. She told police the text was a joke.
