The men of NBC sitcom “Parks and Recreation” traveled from California to work in Indianapolis on Monday.

A festive occasion — the bachelor party for character Ben Wyatt (portrayed by Adam Scott) — provided a storyline for this Hoosier field trip, and members of the ensemble cast referred to the day as a fun change of pace.

“We’ve been looking forward to this trip for weeks,” said Chris Pratt, who portrays enthusiastic Colts fan Andy Dwyer on “Parks and Recreation.” “This is like really our bachelor party. We feel a lot like a family.”

Scott, Pratt, Nick Offerman, Aziz Ansari, Rob Lowe and Jim O’Heir spent about four hours shooting scenes at St. Elmo Steak House, 127 S. Illinois St. The Colts also will factor in the episode titled “Two Parties,” scheduled to air in mid-January.

“Parks and Recreation,” now in its fifth season, is based in fictional Pawnee, Ind.

Former “Saturday Night Live” star Amy Poehler portrays lead character Leslie Knope, who worked in Pawnee’s parks department and is now a member of the city council (and the soon-to-be wife of Wyatt).
