A spokesman for the mayor’s office says Ballard will extend the ban on personal fireworks due to continued dry conditions in the area. He originally issued a seven-day ban on June 30.
There was no word how long the extension will be in effect.
The ban does not apply to professional fireworks displays licensed by the State of Indiana. To report the use of personal fireworks in Marion County during the ban, you’re asked to call 327-3811.
