One of the many joys of this job for me is coming in to talk with the folks here about the jams from back in the day. I love to have my memory kickstarted by the staff here at WTLC, especially when we are talking about records that would set the party off without fail. These are the records we try to get into the mix on ‘Club 106.7’ and ‘The Saturday Night Basement Party’; the JAMS that we may have forgotten, but as soon as we hear the intro, we’re right back in a great place and time.

This is a song that has been covered by Mary J. Blige to great effect, but this original version still always gets a great reaction. It’s a disco/house classic that’s held up quite well over the years. Please enjoy this selection, the mighty ‘Let No Man Put Asunder’ by First Choice.

Don’t be scared to move some furniture and jam with us. We get busy in the mix every weekend. Friday nights, ‘Club 106.7’ starts at 9 p.m. and ‘The Saturday Night Basement Party’ takes to the airwaves every Saturday at 8 p.m.

(P.S. – I think more people would have been hip to this song, but lots of folks were looking for ‘Let No Man Put Us Under’. Note the misspelling on the picture of the bootleg record of this song in the post. That was a common mistake.)
