According to Eurweb, The Queen of Soul is ready to get back to work. After recovering from an unknown illness and dropping quite a bit of weight, Aretha Franklin is about to start working on her 38th studio album with R. Kelly.

“Aretha: Woman Falling Out of Love” is set to begin production on May 3 and will be released under the singer’s very own label, Aretha Records. Others who may be on the project include Faith Hill, BeBe Winans, Gordon Chambers, Karen Clark-Sheard and Richard Marx.

“It’s definitely going to take the boomers back … but it’s also contemporary with respect to other writers and production,” she commented.

Despite her health, Franklin is being positive and making changes to her life. She wasn’t able to attend the Grammys but made time to get dolled up and look glamorous for a video appearance, instead.
