One of the prominent leading ladies of Tyler Perry’s dark new movie “For Colored Girls” spoke with John Monds about her thoughts on Perry’s attempt to turn the celebrated play about multiple Black women’s growing pains into a feature film. Phylicia Rashad was in town to attend the Washington, DC premiere of the film at the Lincoln Theater and she also participated in a panel that followed.
