Law enforcement has found the body of former NBA player Lorenzen Wright, according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal. The newspaper says a police source has confirmed the body is that of the former University of Memphis star, although it hasn’t been confirmed officially.
The body was found in a wooded area in southeast Memphis. Wright has been missing since July 19, and his family has said it suspects foul play. He was last seen leaving his ex-wife’s home near Memphis, and at that time was believed to be carrying some amount of cash.
He was in Memphis to see his six children, who were set to drive to Atlanta with him. Police say the investigation is ongoing. Wright was paid about $55 million during his NBA career, from 1996-2009.
