Actor James Van Der Beek Dead At 48
AUSTIN, TX.–Actor James Van Der Beek is dead at the age of 48.
Van Der Beek was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2023 and went public with his diagnosis in 2024. He’s best known for his role as Dawson Leary in the hit series “Dawson’s Creek.”
His family announced his death in a statement on Instagram and said he met his final days with courage, faith and grace.
