Michael Jackson’s dirty sock sells for over $8K at auction
Who knew that a dirty sock would sell for so much?
A crystal-embroidered sock worn by Michael Jackson during a 1997 concert in Nice was sold at auction in France for €6,200 ($8000). The sock, described as a “cult object,” was found near Jackson’s dressing room after the concert in Nimes. Covered in stains and yellowed rhinestones, the sock was valued at 3,000 to 4,000 euros but sold for 7,688 euros. Jackson’s memorabilia continues to attract high prices, with a Macau gaming resort paying $350,000 for a glove he wore during his first moonwalk in 1983. Despite controversies, Jackson’s fan base remains strong.
