Indiana Black Expo: Summer Celebration 2025
Summer Celebration 2025 : Indiana Black Expo Announces Music Heritage Festival

The wait is officially over. Indiana Black Expo has pulled back the curtain on this year’s Summer Celebration, and let me just say—it’s giving legendary energy.
I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Miss Alice, President & CEO of IBE, along with entertainment powerhouse Amp Harris. Together, they gave us the exclusive first look at the Music Heritage Festival, happening Friday, July 18 at Carroll Stadium on the IU Indianapolis campus.
Headlining the night is none other than Keith Sweat—the king of 90s R&B, with classics like “I Want Her,” “Twisted,” “Keep It Coming,” and “Right and a Wrong Way.”
Also taking the stage are the iconic voices of SWV. Get ready to sing every word of “Weak,” “Rain,” and “Right Here (Human Nature Remix).”
And we’re just getting started. We’re honoring Gary, Indiana’s own Deniece Williams, whose angelic vocals gave us timeless hits like “Let’s Hear It for the Boy” and “Free.”
Then there’s the unforgettable funk and flash of Cameo—and yes, “Word Up!” and “Candy” will absolutely set the stage for the biggest Electric Slide moment of the summer.
Rounding out the lineup is the smooth and soulful Christopher Williams, bringing that classic 90s vibe we still can’t get enough of.
This year’s festival is all about bridging generations and celebrating the soundtrack of our lives—from 80s grooves to early 2000s soul. As Amp Harris said, “This lineup reflects who we are—our stories, our sound, our soul.”
Tickets go on sale Monday, April 28 at 10 AM at Ticketmaster and summercelebration.net. With general admission starting at just $10, it’s one of the best values in the game.
Looking to elevate your experience? Premium VIP floor seating ranges from $75 to $125.
Parking is $10. Coolers are welcome, and yes—air-conditioned restrooms will be on-site.
But this is more than a concert. It’s a full citywide celebration of Black excellence, happening during WNBA All-Star Weekend. We’re talking the return of the All-White Party, the powerful Gospel Explosion, career-boosting seminars, the prestigious Corporate Luncheon, and the always-stylish IBE Fashion Show featuring the iconic Claire Sulmers of Fashion Bomb Daily and local fashion force Nikki Blaine.
As Miss Alice reminded us, “We need our community to show up and show out. This is about preserving our culture and investing in our people.”
So grab your tickets, call your crew, and start planning your look.
