Care to own a piece of Lakers history? Former center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is auctioning off four of his five NBA championship rings earned during the Purple and Gold’s “Showtime” era of the 1980s that also featured Magic Johnson and James Worthy. The minimum bid for each ring is 60-thousand-dollars. You can bid on the items over GoldinAuctions.com. A portion of the proceeds will go toward Kareem’s foundation that helps children learn about STEM education. The former UCLA star born Lew Alcindor says “I am less personally attached to those items than I am to my desire to create new history for myself — and futures for others.”
