Well if you’re headin to Atlanta this summer to visit, expect some pesky friends buzzing around you. Orkin has released its Top 50 Mosquito Cities list with Atlanta at the top, followed by Dallas, which moved up four spots from last year. New York, Washington DC and Chicago round out the top five. Indianapolis came in at 24th. Miami is the 8th buggiest which poses a bigger problem than itchiness. Doctors in Florida have expressed concern that a yellow fever outbreak that has killed hundreds in Brazil, could spread to the region as yellow fever, like the Zika virus is spread by mosquitoes. According to the CDC, vector-borne diseases like Zika virus and West Nile virus have tripled since 2004.
So by all means, be prepared as the weather gets warmer.
