Some of the actors and actresses also took a jab at the Academy Awards after they failed to nominate any non-White stars.

Henson said after winning her award, “We don’t need to ask for acceptance from anyone. We are enough.”

Legend also said, “Despite the daunting problems, I am hopeful that our generation will demand and achieve radical change in our lifetime.” He hit the stage to perform his hit “All of Me.”

Actor Guillermo Diaz, who plays Huck on ABC’s Scandal also shared his peace on the red carpet.

“I think Hollywood should take notes from this awards show.”

“Hollywood needs to know that this is what diversity is supposed to look like,” said Anthony Anderson who hosted the series.
