If you have been sleeping on the Powerball, you might want to wake up, STAT.

The jackpot for tonight—Saturday, January 9—is a whopping $900 million—the largest ever, says Texas lottery officials.

I’m sure many of you are thinking, “How did the jackpot get so damn high?”

Well, thanks to winners in “44 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands since Nov. 7 [who never] claimed the top prize, [the jackpots have] rolled over 18 times,” leading to tonight’s history-making top prize, writes USA Today.

And despite the fact that you have a 1 in 292 million chance of winning, that hasn’t stopped droves of people from standing in line for hours at gas stations, bodegas and liquor stores around the country trying to get their piece of the nearly billion-dollar pie. It’s even got so out of control that the Florida’s state lottery website crashed because online traffic was so high.

But can anything really help increase your chance of winning?

Perhaps. According to ABC News, consider going for random computer generated numbers instead of using personal numbers like Bae’s birthday or your parent’s wedding date. Actually, seventy percent of Quick Pick winning numbers came from “the computer spitting out numbers,” says the lottery’s website.

The winning numbers for this multi-state lottery will be revealed at 10:59pm ET, so get that ticket way before! If you win the top prize, you have two options: Receive 30 annual installments or one lump sum payment of $558 million.

If no one wins tonight, the next drawing will be held on Wednesday, January 13, for an astronomical $1.3 billion.

Good luck!
