As kids head back to classrooms all across Indy and the nation, a staple of kids lunches–and maybe yours–has been recalled. Kraft is recalling 36,000 cases of its single-wrapped American cheese slices due to possible choking hazards. The company announced Friday that a thin strip of the film from that wrapper could remain stuck to the cheese slice after the wrapper is removed. Consumers might not notice it to pull it off the cheese and could eat it, possibly choking. The recall applies to three-pound and four-pound sizes of Kraft Singles American and White American pasteurized prepared cheese products. Officials say there have been three reports to date of consumers choking. Kraft says it, “deeply regrets this situation.”
