Singer Anthony Riley, who appeared the NBC show’s eighth season earlier this year, was reportedly found dead in the basement of his apartment building in Philadelphia on Friday. He was 28. The network has released a statement, offering condolences to his loved ones. Riley’s cause of death is an apparent suicide. He did struggle with substance abuse, abruptly leaving the competition to seek treatment for his addiction. Riley’s time on the show was marked by his rare four-chair turn from the judges, and a spot on Pharrell Williams’ team.
